Israel also has decided to speed up Jewish settlement building in the West Bank and East Jerusalem one day after the Palestinian’s successful bid to join UNESCO, Euronews informs. Remind that the USA and Canada has already reduced finance measures to the UNESCO because of the same reason.

It has also imposed a halt on the transfer of VAT and customs revenues due to the Palestinian Authority worth over seven hundred million euros a year.

At a cabinet meeting Prime Minister Bejamin Netanyahu agreed a series of punitive measures which include a ban on UNESCO missions to Israel.

A spokesperson for the Palestinian Authority condemned the moves saying they would only speed up the destruction of the peace process.
