The shekel was stable against the dollar and euro in morning inter-bank trading but lost ground in the afternoon. The shekel-dollar exchange rate has risen 0.32%, compared with yesterday's representative rate, to NIS 3.845/$, and the shekel-euro exchange rate has risen 0.26% to NIS 4.906/€.
In international markets, the dollar is strengthening against the euro to $1.275/€, and is also strengthening against the pound sterling to $1.546/₤.
Foreign currency trading is taking place against developments in Europe, and the issue by the Ministry of Finance of Israel's first 30-year government bonds.
Atrade says, "Foreign currency investors will continue to react in line with market trends. If the rises continue, the dollar will weaken against most currencies, but if the negative sentiment returns, investors will prefer to return to the greenback."
