The Israel Police has closed the northern section of the Ayalon Highway (Road 20) from Herzliya to the final exit leading to Ra'anana as of 6 pm today for three days, due to ruts in the roadbed caused by heavy rain. The rain seeped into the roadbed, undermining it.
The closing of the road is causing severe traffic jams northbound on the highway. The police have asked drivers to use alternative roads.
