Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) is in talks to sell eGovernment solutions subsidiary Netwise Applications Ltd. to Matrix IT Ltd. (TASE:MTRX). Netwise is a Gold Partner of Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT). It has 200 employees.

013 NetVision Ltd., now a part of Cellcom, acquired Netwise. It was created through the merger of interface characterization developer Addwise and systems developer Nia. Cellcom, the mobile carrier arm of Nochi Dankner-controlled IDB Holding Corp. Ltd. (TASE:IDBH), was merged with its sister ISP and telephony company Netvision to create a full-service telecommunications provider. Cellcom apparently concluded that Netwise does not fit in with its core business.

MatrixIT is one of Israel's leading IT services providers.

Cellcom's share price fell 0.1% in New York yesterday to $15.09, giving a market cap of $1.5 billion. The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) is closed today for a strike.
