American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (NYSE:AEO) will open its first store in Israel tomorrow, February 2, at the Ramat Aviv Mall in Tel Aviv. Ten more stores are planned to open during February. Franchisee Fox-Weizel Ltd. (TASE: FOX) will operate the stores.
American Eagle's outlets will include Tel Aviv Dizegoff Center, Herzliya's 7 Stars Mall, Haifa's Kiryon, Grand Mall, and Mall of Haifa, Rishon LeZion's Kanyon Hazahav, the Hanegev Mall and Big Center in Beersheva, Ra’anna's Renanim, Netanya's Sea City Mall, Petah Tikva's Big Mall, and the Kiryat Ono Mall.
American Eagle VP global business development Simon Nankervis said, "American Eagle Outfitters customers in Israel are incredibly passionate about the brand. We are excited to offer them the opportunity to enjoy our in-store shopping experience at several great locations throughout the region."
American Eagle went international in 2004, and now ships to 77 countries. It also currently operates 21 stores in 10 countries, through franchises, including Russia, China, Hong Kong, and around the Middle East. The first stores in Japan are scheduled to open later this year.
