Bethel Finance: Elbit Systems wins $21m IDF, European contracts

Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) has won two contracts to supply its Lightweight Weapons Stations (LWS) for armored vehicles: an $11 million for the IDF, and a $10 million for a European army.

For the IDF, Elbit Systems will develop and mount 7.62mm, 12.7mm and 40mm LWSs on armored personnel carriers (APCs) and other armored fighting vehicles over an 18-month period. For the European army, the company will supply a 12.7mm LWS to be mounted on Pandur 6x6 armored cars over a 12-month period.

Elbit Systems Land and C4I Division general manager Bezhalel Machlis said, "Our solutions for full scale as well as low intensity conflicts, and our vast experience, enable us to provide customers with cutting edge solutions for all kinds of combat vehicle needs, and we hope other customers will follow."

Elbit Systems' share price fell 1.7% on Nasdaq yesterday to $42.91, giving a market cap of $1.84 billion, but rose 1.6% by midday on the TASE today to NIS 164.10.
