Bethel Finance: Israeli Stocks: Allot Communications, RadVision, Teva, Protalix

Israel’s TA-25 Index gained for the second time this week, climbing 0.6 percent to 1,096.23 at 12:13 p.m. in Tel Aviv. The measure has lost 17 percent this year.

The following stocks rose or fell today. Symbols are in parentheses.

Allot Communications Ltd. (ALLT IT) surged the most since Nov. 30, gaining 5 percent to 66.77 shekels, or the equivalent of $17.84. RBC Capital Markets said the Israeli maker of high- speed networking equipment may be an acquisition target and that the shares may rise to $20 in the next 12 months.

Protalix BioTherapeutics Inc. (PLX IT) jumped the most since Nov. 28, gaining 6.4 percent to 20.10 shekels, or the equivalent of $5.37. The shares in the Carmiel-based biotechnology company narrowed the gap with its U.S. traded shares which closed at $5.39 yesterday.

RadVision Ltd. rose to its highest level since July 5, gaining 5 percent to 26.23 shekels, or the equivalent of $7.01. The maker of video-conferencing systems followed a gain in the U.S.-traded shares, which closed at $7.07 yesterday in New York.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (TEVA IT) headed for its highest close since Nov. 14, advancing 0.9 percent to 150.90 shekels. The world’s largest generic drugmaker’s emergency contraceptive may be the first approved for over-the-counter use by females of all ages if U.S. regulators today lift restrictions.
