The Junior Sailing Program at the Corinthian Yacht Club offers instruction to over 130 children each summer out on the water. Over the past several years, the club has added both Lasers and Optimists to its curriculum of offerings in order to meet the developing needs of the growing local youth sailing community.
This coming season, there will be three levels of Opti sailing instruction available to those interested in continuing their development on the water, as well as both recreational and racing offerings in Lasers.
Classes are held mornings and afternoons, with several different multi-week sessions offered. With the addition of these classes, the club hopes to continue to build on what it says has been the enormous success the CYC Junior Fleet has built.
As always, the Corinthian will offer a gradual, safe, fun introduction to the waterfront environment through its traditional learn-to-sail offerings; the Novice Navigator, Beginner and Intermediate classes will continue to be taught in Vanguard prams.
Registration for this summer’s classes began on Monday, Feb. 13. All program offerings are open to the public.
