Bethel Finance: Shekel weakening against dollar

www.bethelfinance.com
The shekel is weakening against the dollar and euro in inter-bank trading today. The shekel-dollar exchange rate is up 0.36%, compared with yesterday's representative rate, to NIS 3.814, and the shekel-euro exchange rate is up 0.10% to NIS 5.205/€.

"In international markets, the dollar is trading at $1.319/€ against the euro, and at ¥81.45 against the Japanese yen" said Mr. Cedric Marmet from Bethel Finance Ltd.

Macroeconomic news yesterday was disappointing. The Eurozone Purchasing Managers Index fell to 49.3 points, indicating economic contraction, in February, and US factory orders fell 1% in January, the sharpest one-month drop since October 2010. China cut its 2012 growth target to 7.5%, after achieving at least 8% annual growth in 2005-11, another sign that the Chinese government is determined to reduce its dependence on exports in favor of greater domestic consumption.
