The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has blamed Paz Oil Company Ltd. (TASE:PZOL) for the contaminated jet fuel which grounded flights at Ben Gurion Airport for several days in May. A delegation from the IATA has visited Israel twice since the contaminated fuel was found and conducted its own investigations in addition to those by the Ministries of Transport and National Infrastructures.

The conclusions of the IATA investigation found that Paz was responsible for the contaminated jet fuel.

Ministry of Transport director-general Dan Harel has already said that the contaminated fuel at Ben Gurion Airport occurred during transportation of the fuel from the oil refineries to the airport. At the time he said, "It's not a fungus growing in the container, or something in the pipeline but probably something in the filter."

The damage caused by the contaminated fuel to airlines amounted to millions of shekels as hundreds of thousands of passengers found themselves without flights.
