Bethel Finances: State Comptroller to probe dairy price rise

www.bethelfinance.com

"We will investigate the rise in prices for dairy products for which price controls were removed," State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss told the Knesset State Control Committee today. "Rising prices for basic foods severely hurts the poor. This was said in connection with the price of water. This should be prevented. We will examine the issue."

Lindenstrauss said, "Historically, in August 2005, the price control council approved a decision to reduce the number of dairy products under price controls from twenty to four. Late that year, the Office of the State Comptroller reviewed the implementation of the decision. Back in 2005, we warned that the decision-making process on this issue was flawed."
