Sources inform "Globes" that, in the next few days, Minister of Finance Yuval Steinitz will permit parallel imports of dairy products, in order to bring about a fall in prices of such products, which have soared recently.

The minister is also expected to announce today that he will not approve the removal of products from price supervision in the coming months, and that if any such move does take place, it will only be after thorough investigation, and where there is certainty that it will lead to lower prices. A meeting on the matter is due to be held with Ministry of Agriculture representatives tomorrow.

People close to Steinitz sharply criticized Minister of Agriculture Orit Noked today, and a senior source said, "It's unfortunate that the minister of agriculture suffers from comprehension problems. Steinitz met her this morning and informed her that he would not approve the removal of further products from supervision, and proposed that that should also be her stance. It’s a pity that the minister opposes parallel imports, and is concerned only for the interests of the farmers instead of the interests of the public.
