The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) fell today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.77% to 1,281.91 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.99% to 1,165.57 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index fell 2.17% to 279.88 points. Turnover was NIS 1.95 billion.
The Tel Aviv 25 Index has fallen 4.5% from its all-time high reached 10 days ago. The TASE reported today that average daily turnover in April was NIS 1.6 billion, 25% less than in the first quarter.
In the bond market, long-term Shahar unlinked government bonds and long-term Galil CPI-linked bonds both rose by up to 0.1%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index rose 0.06%.
In the foreign currency market, the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate rose 0.59% to NIS 3.397/$, and the shekel-euro representative exchange rate rose 0.29% to NIS 5.016/€.
In the stock market, Tamar partner Isramco Ltd. (Nasdaq: ISRL; TASE: ISRA.L) fell 2.8% for the largest fall among Tel Aviv 25 shares. Its Tamar partners, Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) units Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) fell 1.9% and 0.7%, respectively.
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 1.4% a day after announcing the acquisition of Cephalon Inc. (Nasdaq: CEPH) for $6.8 billion, and despite reports in Japan that it acquired Taiyo Pharmaceutical Industry Co. Ltd. Perrigo Company (Nasdaq:PRGO; TASE:PRGO) fell 1.3%, after rising strongly earlier in day, after publishing strong financials for its third fiscal quarter.
Banks again fell, with Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) down another 1% and Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) down 0.5%. The Banking Index has fallen 6.4% since the Bank of Israel announced new mortgage restrictions last week.
Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: ICL) fell 1.3% on the day's largest turnover of NIS 174 million.
Leviathan partner Ratio Oil Exploration (1992) LP (TASE:RATI.L) fell 2.4%. The company held an offering of participation units and warrants today.
LivePerson Inc. (Nasdaq: LPSN); TASE: LPSN) fell 8.8% after publishing middling first quarter financials. Other technologies companies that published their financials today were AudioCodes Ltd. (Nasdaq: AUDC; TASE: AUDC), which fell 0.5%, Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR; TASE: ALVR), which rose 2%, and Allot Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq:ALLT; TASE: ALLT), which fell 1.6%
D Medical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: DMED); TASE:DMDC) rose 40.7% after rising 60% on Nasdaq yesterday.
