The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.79% to 1,219.45 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.88% to 1,1108.0 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index fell 1.88% to 263.05 points. Turnover was NIS 1.46 billion.
The TASE fell across the board today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.7% for the week, after falling 0.8% last week.
In the bond market, long-term Shahar shekel bonds were unchanged and long-term Galil CPI-linked bonds rose by up to 0.1%. The corporate bond benchmark index Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.26%.
In the foreign currency market, the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate rose 0.42% to NIS 3.377/$, but the shekel-euro representative exchange rate fell 0.06% to NIS 4.931/€.
In the stock market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 1.8% on the day's largest turnover of NIS 101 million, after announcing that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) postponed a decision on generic versions of Copaxone. IBI Investment House said, "It's possible that the announcement may cause negative sentiment, but we continue to believe that Teva is a buy opportunity in the long term."
NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) and Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) both fell 4% for the biggest losses among Tel Aviv 25 shares. Delek's losses wiped out most of its gains earlier this week. Delek units Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) fell 3.2% and 3.6%, respectively, after securing $240 million in refinancing for Yam Tethys.
Telecoms bucked the market. Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 2.2% for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares, and mobile carriers Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) and Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) rose 1.1% and 1.2%, respectively.
Israel Land Development Company (TASE: ILDC) rose 8.7% today, to complete a 14.7% gain for the week, thanks to a 14.2% gain today by subsidiary Israel Land Development Company Energy Ltd. (TASE: IE).
Geothermal energy company Ormat Industries Ltd. (TASE: ORMT) rose 14.2% after announcing its largest ever contract.
