Bethel Finance: Dollar Down, Euro Slightly Up

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .013 percent, Friday, against most of the major currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.792, down .211 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro rose .043 percent to 4.941 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8869, down .107 percent, while the Japanese yen declined .238 percent, 100 yen bringing 4.8693 shekels. The Jordanian dinar's .211 drop brought it to NIS 5.3484, while the Egyptian pound was set at .6297 shekels, down .222 percent. The leading gain was the .607 percent of the Swedish krona to NIS .5469, followed by the Australian dollar, which was set at 3.7914 shekels, up .578 percent.
