Bethel Finances: Delek fails to lift market

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) slipped today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index declined 0.11% to 1,229.20 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index edged down 0.03% to 1,117.89 points, but the BlueTech 50 Index rose 0.31% to 268.10 points. Turnover was NIS 1.1 billion.

The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell again after seesawing during the session. Futures contracts pointed to losses at the opening on Wall Street, which materialized. The TASE will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for the Shavuot holiday. .

In the bond market, both long-term Shahar shekel bonds rose by up to 0.1%, and long-term Galil CPI-linked bonds ranged between losses of up to 0.1% and gains of up to 0.1%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index edged up 0.03%.

In the foreign currency market, the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate fell 0.12% to NIS 3.383/$, but the shekel-euro representative exchange rate rose 0.68% to NIS 4.941/€.

In the stock market, the oil and gas exploration sector stood out with strong gains, which sent the Oil and Gas Index up 1.1%. Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) 1.7%, and its units Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) both rose 3.6%. Avner and Delek Drilling's direct parent company, Delek Energy Systems Ltd. (TASE: DEOL), which is listed on the Tel Aviv 100 Index, rose 4.4%.

Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) fell 0.7% on the day's largest turnover of NIS 62 million. Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) rose 0.7% on a unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) contract, and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) 1.1%.

In real estate, Elbit Imaging Ltd. (Nasdaq: EMITF; TASE: EMIT) rose 2.5%, after its board of directors cancelled the distribution of dividends for the next 12 months.

In biomed, Mazor Robotics Ltd. (TASE:MZOR) rose 5.5% after obtaining US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and EU CE Mark certification for its new robotic surgery system, the Renaissance. Given Imaging Ltd. (Nasdaq: GIVN; TASE: GIVN) rose 2.2% after announcing the start of a trial of its next-generation PillCam Colon endoscopic capsule. Prolor Biotech Inc. (AMEX: PBTH; TASE: PBTH) rose 1.5% after announcing good results in a comparative animal trial of its obesity drug.
