The national average gross salary of Israeli employees fell to NIS 8,689 in August from NIS 8,910 in July, although it was higher than the NIS 8,437 in June, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today. The average salary rose by an annualized 0.6% in June-August in fixed figures. The growth in the average salary slowed to 1.9% in June-August in trend figures, from 3.3% in March-May.
The number of salaried Israeli employees fell 3.01 million in August from 3.07 million in July, but the number of legal foreign workers rose to 89,000 from 87,900. The total workforce fell to 3.14 million in August from 3.19 million in July. However, in trend figures, the workforce rose by an annualized 1.7% in June-August, down from the annualized rate of 2.2% in March-May.
The most rapid job growth in June-August was in the financial services sector, up 4%, down from the 5.8% growth in March-May.
