The British Israel Research and Academic Exchange Partnership (BIRAX) will raise NIS 60 million over five years for the Regenerative Medicine Initiative that will invest in 15 projects.
250 researchers will attend the first UK-Israel Regenerative Medicine Conference at Ben Gurion University of the Negev next week. The conference will bring together leading researchers from both countries in the various fields of regenerative medicine, including cell therapy, stem cell biology, tissue engineering, biomedical engineering, and gene therapy to treat neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, as well bone and cartilage loss, and heart attacks. The British Council and Pears Foundation are sponsoring the event.
