Bethel Finance News:
The Israeli regime has shut down a radio station over claims that it sought to “incite” public opinion against the Tel Aviv establishment, an official says.
Danny Danon of the Israeli Likud Party, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claimed on Sunday that he intervened in shutting down of the All for Peace radio station, which broadcasts from the occupied West Bank, the Associated Press reported.
“A radical leftist station that becomes an instrument of incitement must not be allowed to broadcast to the broader public,” Danon proclaimed.
The Israeli communications ministry ordered the All for Peace station to shut down in November.
Critics say the shutdown of the radio station was politically motivated by conservative figures within the Israeli regime.
However, the communications ministry has claimed that the radio station's Hebrew-language broadcasts inside Israel were “economically damaging local radio franchises.”
Mossi Raz, the director of All for Peace, said that the station, which has been operating since 2004, would go to court in Israel to try to get back on the air.
Israeli journalists say the decision to shut down the radio station is part of the efforts by the Tel Aviv regime to silence critics.
